Finally Got Mawi's CD!!

I finally got one copy, at RM21.00, ORIGINAL!!!

It has all the 12 songs Mawi sang during the concert (from Prelude to Final)

There was this letter written to Utusan Malaysia by an angry buyer of
this CD. He thought this album is a re-record of all the songs, nobody
warned the poor guy that it was just 'cut n paste' from the concert
before he took out RM21.00 from his obviously thinner wallet.

If I was given the chance to buy either the 'cut n paste' version and
the 're-record' album, I would buy the cut n paste version. Cut n paste
version (titled Best of MAWI World) recorded all the errrr, all the
lalalala replacing the real words, the claps and wooo by the crowds when
he hit high notes. Most importantly, it remind me of the moments where I
start to fall in love with him. Listening to Intifada, I remember how I
leaped from my chair (over in law's house) , moving closer to the big
screen tv to see how this BEAUUUUTIFUL and MANLY voice look like. I
remember how terrified I feel when he sang Dari Kekasih for Kekasih (by
Hattan), praying so hard that he will not forget the lyrics like he did
with the Jamal's song before. Yet when that happened, you can hear how
serak his voice turned out after that, yet you'd admire his courage for
finishing the song with such attitude and beautiful high notes. Yup, he
screwed up but the courage he has is what made me fall in LURVE with!!!

This is a true example of a talented boy who has no knowledge but give
it a 100% try, no matter what. Like a 7 years old Palestinian who knows
nothing about how the war started nor how to operate a gun, throwing a
stone to the enemies with such passion and courage in his heart. Mawi is
just like that!

My favorite are Pupus and Seroja. My hairs went so meremang at the third
verse of Seroja where that Sham Kamikaze did AMazinGGG arrangement.
Nour'el Ain and Aduh Saliha were never my type of songs, anyway but
liked the way Mawi sing, BTW. Aduh Saliha was a hard song to sing,
there were the rap verses and he had to hit the high note right away
after that.

I am a proud of owner of such cut n paste album. 15 years down the road,
when Azam Zikry played Mawi's World 15th album, I'd proudly say, "Son,
listen how this man rise up" and play this cut n paste album.

Gotta email Zilis to see what happened on 4 Sept, Gathering of Mawi's FC.
